Rowland Lawver Wins Brown's First 1-Meter Ivy Championship to Highlight Day Two

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown men's swimming and diving had another night of broken records and saw its first individual champion of the meet crowned in diving on night two of the 2025 Men's Ivy League Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday (Feb. 27).
Rowland Lawver made history for Brown, becoming the first Bear to ever win the 1-Meter diving competition. Lawver scored 370.30 points, the ninth-highest champion score in the event in Ivy League history.
In the 200 IM, Marton Nagy earned a second-place finish, setting the program record with a time of 1:42.69. Jack Kelly finished fifth in the event with a time of 1:44.25.
The first record to fall on Thursday came in the prelims as Christian Duetoft set the 500 freestyle record with a time of 4:20.10. Matt Williamson, who finished ninth overall, broke that record swimming in the consolation final with a time of 4:18.75. Duetoft came in fifth in the event with a time of 4:19.84.
Marcus Lee had the top time for the Bears in the 50 freestyle, finishing in 16th (19.97).
The night closed with the team of Lee, Christopher Zhang, Jonathan Gim and Tucker Peterson finishing sixth in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:18.72.
Day three of the Ivy League Championships will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday with prelims before finals at 6 p.m.
