Men’s Swimming and Diving Falls to Columbia 157-143

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown men's swimming and diving (2-5, 1-5 Ivy) earned nine event wins in Saturday afternoon's 157-143 loss to Columbia (2-3, 2-3 Ivy) at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center. Marton Nagy and Christopher Zhang each secured three wins, Rowland Lawver added two, and Max Moore achieved his second event win of the season.
Zhang finished first in the 200 freestyle (1:35.95), 100 freestyle (43.68), and the 100 butterfly (48.16). It was Zhang's third win in the 100 free this season.
Nagy secured wins in the 100 backstroke (48.77), 200 backstroke (1:47.36), and the 200 IM (1:49.39). The sophomore now has nine individual victories, including three in the 100 backstroke and 200 IM, with the 200 backstroke win being his second of the 2025-26 season.
Lawver's wins in the 1-meter dive (372.83) and the 3-meter dive (371.25) give the senior his sixth victory in each event.
Moore finished first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 55.07.
UP NEXT
The Bears continue Ivy League action in Ithaca when they visit Cornell on Jan. 30-31. The divers are scheduled to compete on Jan. 30 at 5 p.m., with the swimmers taking center stage on Jan. 31 at 2 p.m.
