Women's Tennis Falls at TCU

"Our players competed and battled hard on all courts, but TCU was just slightly better in critical moments of most matches. We need to keep working on staying in the present and focus on execution of our shots in pressure situations,"Â Broadbent Family Women's Tennis Head Coach Lucie Schmidhauser said.
The Bears were unable to secure the doubles point, after suffering losses at the second and third lines. First-year Bella Hu and sophomore Dani Ben-Abraham fell to TCU's Maya Drozd and Helena Narmont in third doubles, 6-2. First-year Ali Maguy and sophomore Hannah Shen battled against Tomi Main and Yu-Chin Tsai, but were unable to come out on top. Main and Tsai defeated Maguy and Shen 6-4, clinching the doubles point.Â
"Addie and Lindsey played excellent doubles at line one with clarity and great execution. Annie did a great job in singles figuring out how to break down her opponent and kept up her level throughout the entire match. I hope our players are encouraged by the way they competed today and that they can build on this experience moving forward" said Schmidhauser.
TCU collected five singles wins lines one, two, three, four, and six. Sophomore Anne Yang defeated Cayetana Gay in a tiebreaker at the fifth line, earning the Bears their lone point of the match (7(7)-6(2), 6-2).
