Men’s Soccer Drops First Ivy Contest 1-0 at Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Brown men's soccer team (5-3-1, 1-1 Ivy) dropped their first Ivy contest of the season 1-0 at Princeton (8-1-0, 2-0 Ivy) on Saturday night.
"Pretty typical Ivy League game today," Friends of Brown Men's Soccer Head Coaching Chair Chase Wileman said. "I don't think either team was at their best, and it became more of a battle. Ultimately, we didn't do nearly enough over the 90 minutes to earn anything out of the game. We got what we deserved," Wileman added.
Sophomore goalkeeper Max Pfaffman made his fifth-straight start tonight, allowing just one goal over the full 90 minutes. Pfaffman ended the night with a .857 save percentage, and continues the season with an .810 overall. In his five games he has only allowed one goal or less, keeping his goals against average at .80.
Princeton's lone goal came from Bardia Hormozi in the 33rd minute. The Bears were able to hold the Tigers off for the remainder of the match.
Seven different Bears recorded shots, but were unable to get any past Princeton's Andrew Samuels.

The Bears will return home to host Penn for their Alumni Day on Saturday, Oct. 11. Their match is the first of a doubleheader with the women's team. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
