No. 15 Women's Hockey Skates to Tie at No. 10/11 Colgate; Earns Shootout Win
10/31/2025 7:22:00 PM | Women's Ice Hockey
HAMILTON, N.Y. – The No. 15 Brown women's hockey team (3-1-1, 1-1-1 ECAC) skated to a 3-3 tie with No. 10/11 Colgate (4-4-1, 1-1-1 ECAC) at the Class of 1965 Arena on Friday afternoon (Oct. 31). The Bears earned a 1-0 win in the shootout.
Margot Norehad scored two goals for the Bears and added the lone goal in the shootout win. India McDadi added Brown's third goal and had an assist. Sam Broz and Miranda Calderone also finished the game with assists.
Rory Edwards stopped 33 shots and saved all three shootout attempts for Colgate.
The first period started off with a bang for the Bears as Norehad stuffed home the first goal just five minutes into the game. A shot by Calderone gave up a rebound right in front of the net and Norehad found the puck to give the Bears the lead.
Just two minutes later, a turnover by Colgate in front of Brown's net led to McDadi finding Norehad for a breakaway goal as the junior beat Colgate's goalie blocker-side for her second goal of the game.
Colgate responded with two goals just over a minute apart to tie the game with four and a half minutes left to go in the period. With the Raiders in possession in Brown's zone, a bad pass back to the point led to McDadi finding the puck at center ice for another breakaway. McDadi went glove-side to put Brown up 3-2 after 20 minutes.
After a scoreless second period, Colgate tied the game with just over six minutes left in regulation. Edwards sent the game to overtime finishing the third with 14 saves.
In the extra period, both teams had chances with Brown collecting five shots and Colgate finishing with four but both goalies kept the sheet clean.
In the shootout, Edwards started with a save and Norehad followed with a goal in Brown's first attempt. Edwards would save the next two Colgate shots to give Brown the shootout victory.
GAME NOTES
The Bears will finish up the weekend with a trip to No. 4 Cornell on Saturday. Puck drop is set for 3 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
