"Today was overall a hard-fought game," said head coach Melanie Ruzzi. "Perhaps we had a little bit of nerves to start and allowed them to jump out to an early lead, but we kept scraping back in the game and I am super proud of the team's performance. I felt like we deserved a better outcome today. This was an elite team with elite players and they gave us a chance to win every single night. The leadership provided by our seniors carried forward a culture defined by a joyful locker room and a tenaciuos brand of hockey. I can't thank them enough for what they have done for this program and what they've tought me as a coach."
Quinnipiac scored the first goal of the game just 30 seconds into the contest and doubled its lead six minutes later.

Â
With the goalie pulled, Brown was able to get within one the puck ended up on India McDadi's stick in the slot. McDadi backhanded the puck into the net to make it a 5-4 game.
