No. 15 Women's Hockey Drops Road Contest at No. 4 Cornell

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – No. 15 Brown women's hockey (3-2-1, 1-2-1 ECAC) dropped its matchup with No. 4 Cornell (7-0-0, 4-0-0 ECAC), 5-1 at Lynah Rink on Saturday, Nov. 1.
The Bears lone goal came from Sam Broz, who scored late in the third period. Ava DeCoste and India McDadi each finished with an assist for the Bears.
Cornell netted the first goal of the game with a power play goal 13 mintues into the contest. It was the first power play goal the Bears had allowed this season after killing the first 13 penalties they had faced.
The Big Red added another goal late in the first period to take 2-0 lead after the first 20 minutes.
Halfway through the second, Cornell made the score 3-0.
The game was made 4-0 with another power play goal eight mintues into the third.
Brown avoided the shutout as DeCoste found Broz right in front of the crease and Broz did the rest for her first goal of the season.
A final power play goal gave Cornell its fifth tally of the night.
Rory Edwards finished the night with 27 saves.
GAME NOTES
The Bears will return home for two games next weekend against Delaware. The first contest will be on Saturday (Nov. 8) beginning at 3 p.m.
