Women’s Soccer Set to Host Penn For Pink Out Game on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's soccer team returns home to continue its Ivy League schedule against the Penn Quakers.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+, with tickets available here. It will be the team's annual 'Pink Out' game, as fans are encouraged to wear pink for breast cancer awareness.

Scouting the Bears (7-2-2, 1-1-0)
- Brown was picked second in the Ivy League preseason poll, receiving six first-place votes
- The Bears went 6-1-2 in their non-conference schedule
- They began their season with three straight wins, defeating New Haven, Rhode Island and UConn by a combined score of 7-2
- Their lone loss came against Minnesota, who received national ranking votes in the preseason poll
- They defeated Northeastern 2-0 in a strong bounce-back effort
- The Bears tied Wake Forest 1-1 on the road, who is currently ranked 12th in the country, and tied Hofstra in the next game
- They won back-to-back games 4-0, defeating Central Connecticut State and Providence College
- They defeated Yale in their Ivy League opener 5-2 before falling at Columbia 2-1
- Senior defender Naya Cardoza is tied for the Ivy League lead in goals with six, earning multiple Ivy League Player of the Week honors this season
- Junior midfielder Joy Okonye leads the Ivy League in assists (5) and is tied for the lead in points (15)
- The Bears have outscored their opponents 25-10, while outshooting them 194-79
- Penn was T-6th in the Ivy League preseason poll
- The Quakers defeated Mount Saint Mary's 5-0 in their opener
- They followed that with a tie to Drexel and wins over George Mason and Fairleigh Dickinson
- They then tied Lafayette 2-2 and defeated St. Joseph's 2-1
- Their first loss came against Villanova at home, losing 3-1
- In Ivy League play, the Quakers lost to Princeton 1-0 and tied Dartmouth 1-1
- Penn is led by head coach Krissy Turner, who began her tenure in 2022
- She has over 300 wins in her career, most of which were from her 24-year tenure at Monmouth
- Junior forward Abbey Cook leads the team with three goals
- Senior forward Anuli Okafor and junior forward Taylor Ferraro share the team lead in assists with two
- They've outscored opponents 14-9, while outshooting them 104-81
- The Bears are 19-13-5 against Penn
- They've won four of their last five against the Quakers, as last season's match ended in a 0-0 draw
