Women’s Soccer Plays to 0-0 Draw Against Dartmouth
10/11/2025 6:57:00 PM | Women's Soccer
The first half was nearly even, but the Bears outshot Dartmouth 4-1, including two shots on goal. The uneventful half ended 0-0.
Both teams were more aggressive in the second half, as they combined for six shots on goal.
In the 82nd minute, Bears midfielder Hannah Shapiro fired a shot that was saved by Dartmouth's keeper but resulted in a rebound. The follow-up by Naya Cardoza was saved, but there appeared to be a potential handball by Dartmouth in the box after the play. After replay review, it was deemed a corner kick for Brown instead of a penalty kick.
Just a minute later, Dartmouth's Maeve Theobald scored a goal after a through ball found her down the middle of the field. The play was called offside, as confirmed by replay review.
The game remained tied, as both teams made strong efforts to score, but neither could find the back of the net. It ended in a 0-0 draw.
"Today was a hard-fought game," said Messing Family Head Coach Kia McNeill. "I thought we were the better team, so I'm disappointed for our players that we couldn't find the back of the net and come away with 3 points. We knew Dartmouth would be physical and direct, and overall I thought we managed them well defensively, allowing just one shot on goal. Offensively, though, we didn't generate enough quality chances in the final third. I'm happy we earned another shutout, but with the speed, creativity, and talent we have in our attack and midfield, there's no reason we should be held scoreless in any game. We just need to get back into our rhythm and be sharper with our decision-making moving forward."
The Bears will travel to Harvard next Saturday, October 18. Kickoff set for 7 p.m.
