Women's Basketball Prepares for Back-to-Back Action Against Penn and Princeton

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Brown women's basketball team will prepare for a busy weekend ahead, hosting Penn on Friday and Princeton on Saturday. Friday's game will tip-off at 7 p.m., with Saturday starting at 5 p.m. Both games will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
Friday's contest against Penn will serve as the team's Pride Night. The first 100 fans in attendance will receive a pride tumbler. Saturday is the team's Faculty and Staff Appreciation, Play4Kay, and Pink Out Night. Brown faculty and staff members can claim up to two free tickets. Information on how to claim your tickets can be found here. All fans are encouraged to wear pink for breast cancer awareness.

Scouting the Bears (9-9, 3-2 Ivy)
- The Bears are coming off of a 64-56 win over the Dartmouth Big Green. This win marked Brown's second win in a row, and third conference win of the season.
- Junior forward Alyssa Moreland had herself a career game against the Big Green. Aside from leading the team in scoring, Moreland posted her third double-double of her career. She went on to net a career-high of 21 points, 16 rebounds, and seven made free throws.Â
- Junior forward Beth Nelson set a new career-high with three blocks against Dartmouth.
- The Bears were able to capitalize on their opponent's mistakes, shooting 74% from the free throw line, and collecting 22 points off of turnovers.
- Senior guard Grace Arnolie ranks second in the Ivy League in assists, averaging 4.2 per game.
- Brown ranks second in the conference in three-pointers made, with a 7.7 average per game.
- The Quakers suffered a 54-79 loss to the Columbia Lions on Jan. 25, losing their second straight game in a row.
- Mataya Gale and Simone Sawyer led the Quakers in scoring against Columbia, netting 14 points each.
- Stina Almqvist leads Penn in scoring. She has netted a total of 318 points so far this season, averaging 17.7 points per game. Almqvist also ranks second in the Ivy League in scoring.
- Penn currently sits at third in offense in the Ivy League, averaging 66.7 points per game.
- Penn's lone conference win was against Cornell on Jan. 18. The Quakers held a six point edge over the Big Red, winnin 57-51.
- The Tigers earned a 62-54 win over Cornell on their last time out on Jan. 25, earning their fourth conference win of the season.
- Princeton's only conference loss so far this season was to Columbia on Jan. 20. The Lions held on to their eight point lead and held off the Tigers 58-50.
- Parker Hill led Princeton in scoring against the Big Red, netting 20 points. Hill leads the Ivy League in field goal percentage with .692. Tabitha Amanze follows her with .586.
- Princeton's defense is second-best in the conference allowing only 57.6 points on average.Â
- The Tigers lead the Ivy League in three point percentage with .345.
- The Bears have a 37-56 record against Penn, and a 31-58 record against Princeton. These rivalries both date back to the 1974-75 season.
- Brown earned a 61-59 win over Penn in their last meeting, during the 2023-24 season.
- The Bears lost their last meeting against Princeton, 62-74.
- Brown last earned a win over Princeton on Jan. 13, 2017, netting 98 points to the Tigers' 88.
