PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Bears wrapped up dual competition on Saturday against Cornell and Binghamton at the Pizzitola Center.
Cornell, who is the 9th ranked program in the nation according to the NWCA Coaches Poll, won the first dual matchup by a final score of 35-3. In the second contest, Binghamton won by a final score of 18-17.
Jacob Joyce (133) had a great day of competition, going 2-0 by defeating Ethan Qureshi (Cornell) and Micah Roes (Binghamton). Andrew Reall (184) picked up his second ranked win in as many weeks by defeating #22 ranked Will Ebert (Binghamton).
Blake Saito (157) picked up a victory against Fin Nadeau (Binghamton) after dropping a tightly contested against #2 ranked Meyer Shapiro (Cornell). Alex Semenenko (285) scored a fall against Charlie Tibbits (Binghamton), keeping him in the running for the most falls in the country. Going into this weekend, Semenenko had the 6th most falls in NCAA Division I with 8.
"Overall, we are encouraged by the way our guys are competing. Sometimes it's hard to see the wrestling through the box score. This was one of those times. And that's a credit to our competition as well. Jacob Joyce going 2-0 on the day, and Drew Reall getting his second nationally ranked win in as many weekends highlights our best individual performances," said Head Coach Jordan Leen.
