Men's Hockey Set to Host St. Lawrence, #20 Clarkson in Weekend Series

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Bears (4-9-2, 2-7-1 ECAC) return to Meehan Auditorium to host the St. Lawrence Saints (6-13-1, 2-5-1 ECAC) and the 20th-ranked Clarkson Golden Knights (12-6-2, 6-2-0 ECAC) on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
Friday's game is scheduled for 7 p.m. with Saturday's puck drop set for 4 p.m. Both games will stream on ESPN+ in the United States and on Stretch Internet internationally.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown enters the weekend with a 4-9-2 overall record and 2-7-1 conference mark.
- The offense averages 1.9 goals per game with freshman Brian Nicholas leading the team with seven goals and 15 points. Tyler Kopff leads the Bears with nine assists.
- Brown's power play clicks at 16.7% (6-36) with Nicholas leading the way with four power play goals.
- Defensively, Brown allows 2.5 goals per game to rank third in the ECAC and 20th nationally.
- Between the pipes, Lawton Zacher holds a 2.09 goals against average and .935 save percentage in 12 starts.
- The Bruno penalty kill ranks seventh in the ECAC at 77.5% (36-46).
- St. Lawrence enters the weekend with a 6-13-1 overall record and 2-5-1 ECAC mark. Most recently, the Saints split a conference weekend series with a 4-1 win over Rensselaer before an 8-5 loss to Union at home.
- Offensively, the Saints average 2.1 goals per game to rank tenth in the conference and 55th nationally.
- Greg Lapointe leads the team with nine goals and 15 points. Mason Waite leads the team with eight assists.
- The power play clicks at 15.2% (10-66) to rank tenth in the ECAC and 53rd nationally.
- Defensively, the Saints allow 3.0 goals per game to rank eighth in the conference and 39th nationally.
- Mason Kucenski holds a .916 save percentage and 2.50 goals against average in 15 starts.
- The St. Lawrence penalty kill ranks third in the conference and 18th nationally at 82.9% (51-60).
- Friday marks the 104th meeting dating back to 1952.
- The Saints hold the series edge, 53-35-13 and both teams are 19-19-7 at Meehan Auditorium.
- Since the start of the 2018-19 season, Brown is 6-5-3 in the series with six games going to overtime and nine games decided by a goal or less.
- Going further, over the last 72 meetings dating back to January 1993 , both teams are 29-29-14 in the series. The teams are split by just two goals in the span with St. Lawrence holding the edge, 198-196.
- Clarkson enters the weekend with a 12-6-2 overall record and 6-2-0 conference mark. The Golden Knights are 20th in the nation in both national polls.
- The Clarkson offense ranks sixth in the conference and 25th nationally with 3.0 goals per game.
- Ayrton Martino leads the team with nine goals and 17 points with Ellis Rickwood leading the squad with 10 assists.
- The power play ranks sixth in the ECAC at 19.7% (12-61).
- Defensively, Clarkson allows 2.3 goals per game to lead the conference and rank 11th nationally.
- Goaltender Ethan Langenegger holds a 2.05 goals against average and .914 save percentage in 18 starts.
- The penalty kill leads the ECAC and ranks sixth nationally at 89.2% (58-65) and has allowed just one power play goal in the last 10 games.
- Saturday marks the 107th meeting between Brown and Clarkson dating back to 1952.
- Earlier this season, the Bears took a 1-0 win over the Golden Knights to record consecutive wins in the series for the first time since the 2009-10 season.
- Earlier this season, the Bears picked up the program's first road sweep over Clarkson and St. Lawrence since November 2004.
- Brown took a 1-0 victory over Clarkson on Friday (11/22) before following with a 2-1 overtime win against St. Lawrence on Saturday (11/23).
- It marked the program's third road sweep over the two opponents with the other coming in February 2002, in that sweep, Yann Danis '04 recorded consecutive shutouts.
- It's just the sixth time the Bears have swept the Golden Knights and Saints, with consecutive home wins in November 2005, November 2003, and February 1980.
- Sophomore Lawton Zacher was one of 35 goaltenders named to the Mike Richter Award Watch List.
- The Hockey Commissioners Association announced the Watch List on Wednesday
- The award, given annually since 2014, recognizes the nation's top goaltender.
- Zacher is one of six ECAC goaltenders on the list. He is joined by Ben Charette (Harvard), Ethan Langenegger (Clarkson), Arthur Smith (Princeton), Matej Marinov (Quinnipiac), and Dylan Silverstein (Quinnipiac).
- The ECAC is tied for the second-most selections with the Big Ten and Hockey East. The NCHC leads the nation with seven selections.
