Men's Water Polo Shines in Wins over MIT, Johns Hopkins

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – No. 19 Brown men's water polo (5-3) dominated in victories over MIT and Johns Hopkins on Saturday inside the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center. The Bears upended MIT 18-8 before concluding the busy Saturday with a 21-9 victory over Johns Hopkins. Máté Tymcyna again collected 11 goals in two games after doing so a few weeks ago in the wins over Cal Baptist and Air Force. Ilias Stothart led all with eight goals in the latter contest.
#19 BROWN 18, MIT 8
Brown led 7-3 at the half before exploding in the second stanza behind six goals, three coming by Tymcyna. William Griswold and Stothart posted three goals apiece. Tymcyna finished with a season-high seven total goals.
#19 BROWN 21, MIT 9
A 9-1 third period highlighted the 21-9 victory over the Blue Jays. Stothart finished with a season-high eight goals, two shy of the single-match program record set last season by Stothart himself. Tymcyna added four goals, and Daniel Hadar and Goran Narancic scored three times.
