Men's Water Polo Cruises Past Long Island For NWPC Win; Falls at Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J.. – Brown men's water polo (6-4, 1-1 NWPC) began league play splitting two road games on Saturday. Brown fell at No. 9 Princeton before beating Long Island to close out the day.
No. 9/9 PRINCETON 14, No. 18/19 BROWN 8
Gabe Chang and Mac Berry each scored twice but Brown fell into an early hole in a loss to No. 9/9 Princeton to start conference play.
Princeton led 2-1 after the first quarter and 5-2 at halftime. Brown made it 6-3 before Princeton scored four-straight to take a 10-3 lead. The two teams each scored five goals in the fourth for the final tally.
Ilias Stothart, Danield Hadar, Ramzi Megalli and Máté Tymcyna also tallied goals for Brown. Dimitrios Kratimenos had nine saves in goal.
No. 18/19 BROWN 20, LONG ISLAND 11
Brown used a strong second half to cruise to a nine-goal win over Long Island to close out play on Saturday. Chang tied his career-high with a team-high six goals with Stothart adding four and Megalli scoring three. Tymcyna netted two goals for Brown and Hadar, Mac Berry and William Griswold each scored once.
Ryan Miele made 13 saves in goal for the Bears.
After leading 8-5 at halftime, Brown outscored Long Island 7-1 in the third quarter to take control of the game. Brown added five more goals in the fourth quarter as the Bears picked up their first conference win of the season.
UP NEXT
Brown will head to Iona for a matchup against the Gaels on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
