Baseball Falls in Series Finale at Bryant

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown baseball team dropped a Sunday afternoon contest at Bryant by a final count of 6-3.
Seven of Brown's nine players got hits, with junior Gunner Boree leading the way with two hits including a home run and two runs scored. Junior Santhosh Gottam struck out seven batters over 7.0 innings of work while issuing two walks and retired 16 of the final 18 batters he faced.
The Bulldogs struck for four runs on five hits right out of the gate in the first, with the first six batters reaching base. Brown got two runs back right away in the second as Boree led off with his first homer of the season, and Mika Petersen added a two-out, RBI single to plate Andrew Hanlon.
Bryant tacked on one run in the bottom of the second, then added an insurance run with back-to-back hits with two outs in the eighth inning against the Bears' bullpen. Brown pulled within 6-3 in the ninth when Boree started the frame with a double and came in to score on a ground ball by Nathan Brasher.
Brown will return home for its next game on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. for a matchup against Holy Cross on ESPN+.
