With their first postseason win since 2007, the Bears will advance to the winner's bracket tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon when they will face top-seeded Yale at 4 p.m. The winner of that game will advance to Sunday's championship game, while the loser will play in an elimination game at noon on Sunday.
Senior Mark Henshon delivered the game-winning blow with a huge two-out, three-run double in the top of the ninth to break a 4-4 tie, moments after Alex Benevento lifted a sac fly to deep left field that scored Matt Luigs all the way from second base to tie the game.
Senior Christian Keel picked up the win with 3.0 innings of relief, allowing two unearned runs and striking out three. Camren Piwnicki picked up the final three outs in the ninth for his first career save. Senior Peter Dubie went the first 5.0 innings, allowing two runs on four hits with four strikeouts.
At the plate, Luigs and Henshon had two hits and a run scored apiece, sophomore Christian Butera had an RBI double, senior Logan Meusy scored three runs. Junior Andrew Hanlon added an RBI single on a squeeze play.
After Brown stranded a leadoff single in the top of the first, Penn used a leadoff walk and one-out double to take a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the inning.
The Bears broke through and tied the score 1-1 in the fourth as Meusy led off with a hit by pitch, then raced home from first on a two-out RBI double by Butera that rolled to the wall in right-center field.

The Quakers came right back with a run in the bottom of the fourth. Consecutive hits to start the inning, followed by a sac fly on a diving catch by Meusy gave Penn the 2-1 lead. Alex Benevento added a diving catch in right field and doubled the runner off first base to end the inning and keep it a one-run game.
After a pair of sensational defensive plays from Benevento and Luigs in the fifth, the Bears used small ball and clutch hitting to take the lead in the sixth. With two on and nobody out, Edmunds lined one into right field to score Luigs to tie the game. Two batters later, Hanlon dropped down a perfectly executed bunt single on a safety squeeze that scored Henshon with the go-ahead run.

Penn tied the game 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh with an unearned run following a two-out walk and a throwing error. The Quakers then took the lead with another unearned run in the eighth with an RBI single that came after a throwing error on an infield popup.
The furious four-run ninth started with a one-out single by Luigs. After a walk, Benevento drove a sac fly to the warning track in left field, and Luigs tagged up and hustled around third and scored all the way from second to tie the game. After a walk and infield single loaded the bases, Henshon stepped in and delivered a double down the right field line over the head of the first baseman that cleared the bases for three runs and the 7-4 lead.
