Women's Tennis Finishes Strong at Harvard Quad Event

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Brown women's tennis team wrapped up their last day of the Harvard Quad Event, finishing the competition strong.Â
"All players competed really well today and we showed a lot of fight and resilience winning all five singles match tiebreakers we played today. It was a good weekend for our team as we continue to learn how to consistently compete at a high level, and our players had the opportunity to challenge themselves against quality competition,"said Head Coach Lucie Schmidhauser.
The Bears split the doubles matches with Boston College, earning two wins each. Brown earned their wins at the first and fourth line of doubles. The pairing of Phoebe Peus and Lindsey Hofflander kicked off the day with a 6-1 win over Seren Agar and Nada Dimovska in first doubles. Bella Hu and Anne Yang secured Brown's second doubles win in fourth doubles with a final score of 6-4 against Saige Severance and Alex Torre. Anne Moody and Addison Ahlstrom competed at the second line, putting up a fight against Olivia Benton and Tola Glowacka. The Eagles' pairing ultimately defeated the Bears with a final score of 6-3. At the third line, Hannah Shen and Ali Maguy took on Muskan Mahajan and Nadia Barteck. Mahajan and Barteck came out on top, finishing the match with a score of 6-4.
The Bears continued to show their strength by blazing their way through singles, earning seven wins out of eight matches played. At the first line, Phoebe Peus defeated Seren Agar in three sets (6-2, 4-6, 10-4). Ali Maguy continued to capitalize on her singles run this season with a win over Nadia Barteck (3-6, 6-2, 10-7). The Bears were unable to come out on top at the third line with Hannah Shen falling to Olivia Benton (1-6, 2-6). The Bears swept through the remaining singles matches posting wins at all of them. In fourth singles, Bella Hu took down Muskan Mahajan in two sets (6-1,6-1). Anne Yang defeated Alex Torre with a final score of 6-3, 4-6, 13-11. Addie Ahlstrom kept the momentum rolling at the sixth line with a win over Nada Dimovska (6-2, 5-7, 10-6). Lindsey Hofflander posted a win against Saige Severance in three sets (7-5, 3-6, 10-8). Anne Moody finished off the run with a win over Audrey Magnusen in two sets (6-3, 6-4).
