Women's Tennis Wraps Up Competition at Ivy League Invitational
10/26/2024 4:45:00 PM | Women's Tennis
PHILADELPHIA, Penn.- The Brown women's tennis team wrapped up their competition at the Ivy League Invitational on Saturday.Â
"In most matches today, our players didn't have the ball quality and consistency to make their opponent uncomfortable and out of position to challenge them and let them make mistakes. Anne displayed a lot of fight and resilience in her third set tiebreaker win. She played with clarity and fearlessness," Head Coach Lucie Schmidhauser said.Â
The doubles pairing of Anne Moody and Ali Maguy kicked off competition for the day against Dartmouth's Elizabeth Fahrmeier and Alexandra Dewire. Moody and Maguy were unable to earn the win, and were knocked off by the Dartmouth duo (4-8).
In singles, Dani Ben-Abraham lost to Princeton's Alice Ferlito (6-1, 6-3). Ali Maguy lost her first singles match of the season to Isabella Chhiv (0-6, 2-6). Hannah Shen suffered a loss to Columbia's Winta Tewolde (2-6, 3-6).
To close out the day, Anne Moody battled with Dartmouth's Valentina Cruz-Bonilla earning a win in three sets (2-6, 7-5, 10-8).
The Bears will now prepare for the Harvard Quad Event beginning on Friday, November 1.
