Â
•  Brown will host its first of three home meets this Sunday when welcoming Alaska Anchorage and Southern Connecticut State to Pizzitola. The home gym has been friendly to the Bears, who were a perfect 8-0 home in 2023.
•  The Bears' program has a couple of connections to Alaska Anchorage. Assistant coach Sophia Hyderally competed for the Seawolves before graduating in 2020, and former head coach Sara Carver-Milne competed for the Seawolves, graduating in 1997.
•  Brown opened up its 2024 season last Sunday with a dual meet at Oregon State. The Bears posted a score of 192.950, their highest score in a season-opening meet since at least the 2009 season. It was the second consecutive year Brown traveled to Oregon State, where head coach Brittany Harris competed collegiately.
•  Junior Julia Bedell was voted the GEC Specialist of the Week on Wednesday after her performance last weekend. She tied for fourth on vault (9.850), tying her career-high, which ranks tied for fourth all-time in program history. She then finished tied for second overall on floor with a score of 9.900, a mark that is tied for seventh in program history.
•  The Bears had three gymnasts compete in new events for the first time in their collegiate careers at Oregon State - Sophia Dewar on bars, Asta Farrell on vault, and Liza Marcus on bars and floor. Farrell also exhibitioned on floor.
