Gymnastics Posts No. 10 All-Time Score in Dual Meet at No. 11 Michigan State

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Brown gymnastics team posted the 10th-highest team score in school history at 194.750, as well as the third-highest beam score (49.025) in program history on Sunday afternoon in the team's dual meet at No. 11 ranked Michigan State.
The Bears' score of 194.750 marks the third consecutive week Brown has topped the 194.750-point mark, while Michigan State scored 197.500 to win the dual meet. Individually, junior Emily Ford tied for first place on beam.
Starting the meet on bars, Brown scored a 48.550 with senior Liza Marcus scoring 9.825 to place sixth. Sophomore Addy Whiteside tied her career-high at 9.775 to tie for seventh. Senior Sophja Dewar tied her career-high at 9.750 to place ninth.
Next up on vault, freshman Lulu Ton-That tied her career-high with a 9.825 to tie for fourth place overall. Dewar tied for seventh with a 9.775, and senior Umi El Mammann had a 9.750 to place ninth.
Brown put up 48.600 on floor with Dewar leading the team with a 9.850 to tie for fifth. Whiteside put up a 9.800 and Lindsey Yang scored 9.750.
Rounding out the meet on beam, the Bears posted a 49.025, marking just the third time ever the team has topped the 49-point mark on beam. Ford tied for first overall with a 9.875, with Whiteside following in fourth place (9.850), and Lindsay Van Eyk (9.825) tying for fifth overall.
With the regular season now in the rearview mirror, the Bears will turn their attention to the GEC Championships, which will take place next Saturday, March 21 at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. As one of the top four seeds in the conference, the Bears will compete alongside Penn, Yale and Cornell in the evening session at 5 p.m. The bottom four seeds will compete in the afternoon session at noon. All sessions will be streamed live on ESPN+.
