PHILADELPHIA – Brown softball dropped the series finale at Penn, 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.
Brown earned its first baserunner of the game in the top of the seventh, as Jasmine Hsiao broke up the perfect game with a double to center field. A groundout by Vanessa Alexander moved Hsiao and Hsiao scored on a ground ball to Dara English to score the Bears' only run.
Penn got its scoring started in the second inning, loading the bases with one out and after a strikeout, a double to left field brought home two runs.
The Quakers loaded the bases again in the fourth but only picked up one run after a sac fly to go up 3-0.
Erin Elgas was charged with the loss throwing three innings and allowing four hits and three runs. Jodie Aguirre threw three innings in relief, allowing just two hits.
