Softball Travels to Providence for Midweek Contest

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown softball heads across town to take on Providence for the final midweek game of the season for the Bears on Wednesday.
The game will start at 6 pm and will be streamed on FloSports.
ABOUT BROWN
- The Bears are coming off their final road trip of the season where Brown dropped two of three games to Penn.
- Moe Kastens leads the Bears with a .309 batting average and is slugging .426.
- Jasmine Hsiao is continuing is stellar first season as Bear, leading the team in doubles (10) home runs (6), RBI (14), walks (17) and runs scored (18). Hsiao is hitting .267 and has 23 hits on the year.
- Laurel Moody and Dara English are leading the Bears with 26 hits and both have one home run. English is second on the team with 12 RBI.
- Alexis Guevara holds a 2.57 ERA in 106.1 innings pitched. Guevara has 83 strikeouts to just 34 walks.
- Jodie Aguirre has lowered her ERA to 3.52 and is second on the team in that category.
ABOUT PROVIDENCE
- Providence is 12-28 on the season and 14-4 in Big East play. The Friars have lost five-straight games, including being swept by Seton Hall in a three-game series last weekend.
- Providence is just 1-11 on its home field this season with the only win being a 3-2 win over UConn on March 18.
- Jacque Harrington leads the team with a .358 batting average, 44 hits, 24 runs, seven doubles, nine home runs and 30 RBI.
- Tori Grifone holds a 3.99 ERA to lead the team and is tied for the team lead with 73.2 innings pitched with Riley Quirk. Providence has a team-ERA of 5.87.

- Brown fell to Providence 6-1 at home last season.
