Women's Hockey Skates to 3-3 Tie at No. 5 Clarkson

POTSDAM, N.Y. – Brown women's hockey came away with a 3-3 tie at No. 5 Clarkson on Friday night.

The Bears move to 5-5-1 on the season and 4-4-1 in the ECAC, while the Golden Knights are now 13-0-2 and 4-0-1 in the conference.

Scoring for the Bears were sophomore Gali Levy, freshman Margot Norehad and sophomore Jade Iginla.
Â
Brown struck first at the 10:47 mark of the first period. Freshman Ava DeCoste and junior Cameron Sikich set up Levy for her first-career goal.
Â
Clarkson answered at 13:11 with a goal from grad student Darcie Lappan. The Bears then retook the lead with just over three minutes remaining in the first when Norehad lit the lamp with assists from DeCoste and Iginla.

Brown took a two-goal advantage in the second period when Iginla fired a deep shot after pretty passing from sophomore India McDadi and freshman Sam Broz.

The Bears held onto a 3-1 lead until Clarkson pulled its goalie in the final minute and tied the game. Junior Haley Winn scored the first goal from senior Nicole Gosling and senior Anne Cherkowski. Gosling then forced overtime with assists from Winn and Lappan.

Both teams had chances in the extra five minutes, but the game finished in a 3-3 tie.

Brown is at St. Lawrence on Saturday at 3 p.m.
