CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Brown men's crew team had a successful first day at the 2023 Head of the Charles.

The Club 8+ set a course record with a first-place time of 14.13.412, which was over three seconds faster than second-place Harvard. Brown's Club B 8+ finished eighth out of the 36 crew field with a time of 14.33.306.

"The team had a good win in the Club 8+ today," said Paul Cooke, Men's Crew Head Coaching Chair. "Getting the course record is a real accomplishment. Both of our crews raced well in the event and it's encouraging to see the a high level of performance throughout the squad."

The Bears continue the Head of the Charles on Sunday. The Championship Eight is at 1:57 p.m.
