Women's soccer to host Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's soccer team will host Providence this Thursday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. at Stevenson-Pincince Field.
The Bears remain in TopDrawerSoccer's National Ranking at No. 25 after a pair of games last week.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Fans are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets online at BrownBears.com/tickets prior to their arrival at Stevenson-Pincince Field. Fans should either download their digital tickets to display on a mobile device or print them at home prior to arrival.
The first 200 fans in attendance will receive a free cupcake to celebrate Bruno's Birthday Bash!

Scouting the Bears (4-1-1)
- Ava Seelenfreund has scored a goal in three straight games for the Bears. Including an assist against Hofstra, Seelenfreund has accumulated seven of her team-leading nine points over the last three games.
- Sheyenne Allen has four points in the previous two games from one goal and two assists. Against both Ohio State and Northeastern, Seelenfreund scored a goal on a corner that was taken by Allen.
- The Bears have earned 43 corner kicks through six games this season. Their 7.17 per game average is tops in the Ivy League and 23rd in the nation.
- After starting the season with a 1-0 win over Colgate, the Friars have struggling going 1-4-1 since. The lone other win was a 4-2 result against Stony Brook. Last week, Providence fell to Monmouth 2-0 and tied Boston College 1-1.
- Meg Hughes leads the team through seven games with two goals and one assist for five points. Elayna Grillakis leads the team with three assists.
- Emma Bodmer has start all seven games in goal for the Friars posting a 2.01 goals against average and a .563 save percentage.
- Brown holds an all-time 21-11-0 edge over Providence. Last season, the Bears fell 2-1 at the Friars. Rebecca Rosen '21 scored in the 17th minute, but a pair of second-half goals gave Providence the victory.
- The last time Brown hosted its cross-town rival was in 2019. In that one, then-freshman Seelenfreund scored the only goal of the game to give the Bears the win. Claire Myers assisted on the strike.
