- Brown doubled down once more in the second with a big two-out, two-run single by Rappoli to plate two more unearned runs.
- The Bears broke it open with a big seven-run third inning to push the lead to 11-1, pounding out five hits in the frame. Marra tagged a two RBI single to right center, Sass immediately followed with a RBI single of his own, and two batters later, Rappoli roped a run-scoring single to left field. With two outs and the bases loaded, Boree lined a hit to right field that the fielder misplayed allowing three runs to score, with Boree getting tagged out at home to end the inning.
- The Bears used a five-run fifth to extend the lead to 16-1, highlighted by an RBI single from Jacob Burley and a grand slam to right field with two outs by Lang.
- URI got two runs back without the benefit of a hit in the home half of the fifth, and added two more on two hits in the sixth to make it 16-5.
- Brown piled it on with a six-run eighth inning courtesy of Rappoli's fourth hit of the day, four straight bases loaded walks, and an RBI groundout by Lang.
- Morphew added an RBI ground ball in the top of the ninth to cap Brown's scoring, before taking the mound to close out the game in the bottom of the ninth, striking out two to end the game.
- "I was proud of our guys today being able to put pressure on them."
- "Derian was high school pitcher and was recruited as a two-way guy, and it was good to see him work back into it on the mound. He's a guy that we've wanted to get a chance out there, and this was a good intro."
- "Reece has been putting together quality at bats all year and 5-for-7 is not something you see every day. It was a really good day for him."
- "Chris Lang has as much pop as anyone on our team. We saw some really good at bats out of him today and I'm proud of how he took advantage of his start."
