Women's lacrosse to host Central Connecticut Thursday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's lacrosse team will host Central Connecticut this Thursday, March 17 at 5 p.m. at Stevenson-Pincince Field.
The Bears last played on March 5 when they opened the Ivy League season with a win at Columbia. The Blue Devils picked up their first win of the season last Tuesday against Delaware State.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Fans are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets online at BrownBears.com/tickets prior to their arrival at Stevenson-Pincince field. Brown Athletics has moved to completely contactless ticketing, so fans should either download their digital tickets to display on a mobile device or print them at home prior to arrival.

Scouting the Bears (3-2, 1-0 IVY)
- Brown will play its first game in 12 days when it takes on CCSU Thursday. Last time out, the Bears took down Columbia 14-9 to start the Ivy season 1-0.
- Maggie Fowler led Brown against the Lions with five points from two goals and three assists. Alaina Parisella had her best game of the young season posting four points from three goals and one assist.
- On the season, Fowler is tied for the team lead with Leah Caputo with identical stat lines of 14 points from seven goals and seven assists. Claire Jeschke has a team-high eight assists and Mia Mascone leads the team with 10 goals.
- CCSU opened the season with four straight losses by a combined margin of 79-18, before bouncing back in its most recent contest with a 12-8 win over Delaware State.
- Against Delaware, the Blue Devils trailed 6-4 early in the third quarter, but went on to score the next eight goals to claim the win.
- On the season, Olivia Gianakos and Lauren Valluzi are tied for the team lead of eight points. Gianakos has a team-high seven goals and three players are tied for the team lead of two assists.
- Brown has taken on CCSU three times in program history and has won all three meetings.
- Most recently, the Bears and Blue Devils played to an 8-2 Brown win in 2016. Lauren Toy '16 led the Bears with five points from one goals and four assists, and Rose Mangiarotti '18 had a game-high four goals.
