Men's Hockey Travels to #2/2 Quinnipiac for Tuesday Night Clash

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Bears (5-15-1, 5-9-1 ECAC) travel to Hamden, Connecticut for a Tuesday night clash with the second-ranked Quinnipiac Bobcats (23-2-3, 12-1-1 ECAC at Frank Perrotti Jr. Arena.
Tuesday night's game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+ in the United States and Stretch Internet internationally.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown enters Tuesday with a 5-15-1 overall record and 5-9-1 ECAC conference mark. The Bears are tied for ninth in the conference standings alongside Princeton with 17 league points in 15 games played. Princeton holds the tie-breaker over Brown with two head-to-head wins.
- Senior forward Justin Jallen leads the Bears with six goals and 12 points this season. Junior defenseman Luke Krys picked up an assist against St. Lawrence (Feb. 5) for his team-leading seventh of the season. Jallen, Tristan Crozier, and Samuli Niinisaari are tied for second on the team with six assists apiece.
- Krys leads the Bears with 77 blocked shots this season. He leads the NCAA in blocks per game (3.71) and is one of four players with over 60 blocks in the 2021-22 campaign.
- Between the pipes, Mathieu Caron holds a 2.97 goals against average and .908 save percentage to lead Brown netminders. Caron holds a 4-9-1 record in 14 starts with two shutouts.
- Quinnipiac enters Tuesday as the second-ranked team in the nation and the top team in the ECAC standings. The Bobcats hold a 23-2-3 overall record and 12-1-1 conference mark. Winners of five straight, Quinnipiac's last loss came in overtime at eighth-ranked Cornell (Jan. 22).
- Offensively, Quinnipiac boasts the top scoring unit in the ECAC and ninth-ranked offense in the NCAA with 3.43 goals per game.
- Wyatt Bongiovanni leads the Bobcats in goals (13) and shots on goal (108). Zach Metsa leads the Bobcats in assists (21) and points (28). Eight Bobcats have six or more goals this season.
- Quinnipiac boasts the top-ranked defense in the nation, allowing an eye-opening 0.96 goals per game. The Bobcats have already broken the NCAA record for shutouts in a single season with 13.
- Freshman Yaniv Perets leads the NCAA with a 0.75 goals against average and .958 save percentage in 19 starts. Perets posted a 12-save shutout win over Brown in November, one of his 10 shutouts this season and holds a 15-1-2 record.
- Tuesday night marks the 44th meeting between Brown and Quinnipiac in a series dating back to 2006.
- Brown holds a 10-26-7 record in the series and a 3-6-1 record in the last 10 meetings.
- Brown's record is 5-18-3 on the road and 5-16-3 at Frank Perrotti Jr. Arena.
- Brown closes the Ivy slate on Friday (Feb. 11) in Hanover, New Hampshire to take on the Dartmouth Big Green (3-16-3, 2-11-2 ECAC). Friday's game is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. at Thompson Arena.
- With a win, Brown will finish the Ivy slate with a 5-5-0 record. Brown has finished with a .500 or better record against Ivy opponents 12 times in the last 40 seasons.
