HOW IT HAPPENED

- The Bears added to the lead just over two minutes later at 17:35 when Maloney called for the puck at center ice, skated it in and beat the goaltender on a breakaway to spot Brown a 2-0 lead the carried into the first period. Gallagher and Sikich earned assist on the goal.
- Brown added to the lead and went up 3-0 at 5:45 of the middle period when Hurd grabbed her own rebound, skated around the right wing circle and roofed one under the bar from the slot.
- Union got on the board with a power play goal at 13:48 of the second period.
- The Bears answered right back before the end of the period when Maloney hustled down the loose puck directly off a faceoff, and fed it in front to Forrest who shot it into the bottom left corner to pad the Bears lead at 4-1 through two periods.
- Paolillo helped put the game away with a goal off of her own rebound in front at 16:24 of the third period.
- Exactly 59 seconds later, Hurd tallied her second of the night by sniping one from the left wing circle at 17:23.
QUOTES FROM THE COACH: MELANIE RUZZI
- "It was a consistent effort tall the way through. We went in with a good game plan and since we just played them last week, we knew what we needed to do better. We grinded and our goals were pretty goals, which is exciting. We finally had a chance to use our speed and let our skill show off a little bit."
- On looking ahead to Sunday: "I think Dartmouth is an unbelievable team. Their record is not indicative what kind of team they are. We will need to refine some stuff defensively and be more lock down on the defensive end."
