Men's Hockey Travels to Dartmouth for Friday Clash with Big Green

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Bears (5-16-1, 5-10-1 ECAC) enter the homestretch of the 2021-22 season and travel to Hanover, New Hampshire to take on the Dartmouth Big Green (3-16-3, 2-11-2 ECAC) Friday night at Thompson Arena.
Friday's game marks the final Ivy game of the season for the Bears and is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. The game will stream on ESPN+ in the United States and on Stretch Internet internationally.

THOMPSON ARENA ATTENDANCE POLICY
- On February 9, Dartmouth Athletics announced that fans from outside the Dartmouth community are now permitted to attend games at Thompson Arena. Fans must purchase tickets through the Dartmouth Ticket Office website or by phone at 603-646-2466. Walk-up sales are not available.
- Fans must show proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours to enter Thompson Arena and masks must be worn at all times while indoors regardless of vaccination status.
- Brown enters Friday night with a 5-16-1 overall record and 5-10-1 ECAC conference mark. The Bears are tenth in the ECAC conference standings, but are just four points back of Union and Rensselaer in fifth.
- Justin Jallen, who scored in Brown's 4-1 loss at second-ranked Quinnipiac on Tuesday (Feb. 8), leads the team with seven goals, 13 points, and 53 shots on goal. Junior defensemen Luke Krys and Samuli Niinisaari lead the Bears with seven assists apiece.
- Between the pipes, freshman Mathieu Caron holds a .908 save percentage and 3.04 goals against average in 15 starts.
- Brown's power play clicks at 10.3% (9-for-83) to rank tenth in the ECAC. Brown's penalty kill comes in at 83.3% (75-for-90) to rank fourth in the ECAC and 21st in the NCAA alongside Colgate and Dartmouth.
- Friday night marks Brown's final Ivy game of the season with the Bears looking to finish 5-5-0 against Ivy opponents, a feat accomplished a dozen times in the last 40 seasons.
- Following Friday's game, Brown closes the 2021-22 regular season with five games against Empire State opponents. Brown hosts Colgate (Feb. 14), Rensselaer (Feb. 18), and Union (Feb. 19) at Meehan Auditorium before finishing the campaign at St. Lawrence (Feb. 25) and Clarkson (Feb. 26).
- Dartmouth enters Friday with a 3-16-3 overall record and 2-11-2 conference mark. The Big Green sit 12th in the ECAC standings under second-year coach Reid Cashman.
- The Big Green have lost four straight dating back to a tie at Cornell (Jan. 28) with their last win coming against New Hampshire (Dec. 30).
- Mark Gallant leads Dartmouth with seven goals. Sean Chisholm and Tanner Palocsik lead the Big Green with eight assists apiece and Chisholm leads Dartmouth in points (13) and shots on goal (55). In total, four Dartmouth skaters have 10 or more points through 22 games.
- Clay Stevenson leads Dartmouth goaltenders with a .923 save percentage, a 2.91 goals against average, and a 2-8-2 record in 13 starts. Justin Ferguson has made nine starts and holds an .872 save percentage and 3.72 goals against average along with a 1-8-0 record.
- Dartmouth's power play ranks ninth in the ECAC and 49th in the NCAA with a 13.9% success rate (10-for-72). The Big Green's penalty kill is tied with Brown's for fourth in the ECAC and 21st in the NCAA.
- Friday night marks the 164th meeting between Brown and Dartmouth in a series dating back to 1928. Dartmouth holds an 85-70-8 record in the series and a 47-30-2 record at home. At Thompson Arena, Dartmouth holds a 29-17-1 record against Brown.
- Brown took a 4-0 win over Dartmouth in the first meeting of the season on Saturday, December 4 with goals from Tristan Crozier, Michael Maloney, Thomas Manty, and Jackson Munro.
- Both teams have won five of the last 10 meetings.
- Brown hosts Colgate (10-14-3, 5-7-3 ECAC) on Monday (Feb. 14) at Meehan Auditorium, looking to grab a season split with the Raiders after a 6-0 road loss at Class of 1965 Arena in November.
