Coed sailing takes first at three events, women claim second at ACC Qualifier

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown sailing teams competed across five events during the weekend of Oct. 1-2.
The women's team took second out of 18 teams at the Women's Atlantic Coast Qualifier. In doing so, they qualified for the Women's ACC Championship in a couple of weeks. Caroline Bayless, Menasha Leport, Blaire McCarthy, and Savannah Young competed for the Bears.
The coed team managed three first place finishes on the weekend and one second place. The first place finishes came at the Danmark Trophy, the Smith Trophy, and the Lark Invite. They claimed second at the Moody Trophy.
At Danmark, Connor Nelson, Isabel Cox, Jed Bell, Nora Ong, Liam O'Keefe, and William George raced for the Bears.
At Smith, Brown's representatives included Tommy Styron, Olivia Miller, Leyton Borcherding, and Emily Rosenthal.
At Lark, a pair of teams competed. Emily Mueller, Charlotte Costikyan, Talia Levine, Catherine Morrissette, Connor Macken, and Janelle Li came in first place. Katherine McNamara, Brianna Ross, Caroline Keeffe-Jones, Katharine Doble, Sierra Bornheim, and Kaitlyn Hamilton came in sixth.
At Moody, Hunter Zonnenberg, Hannah Sellers, Emi Ruth, Guthrie Braun, and Lily Shore competed for Brown.
