Notes: Sailing became a varsity sport at Brown prior to the 2020-21 academic year … Joined the team prior to the 2021-22 academic year.
2022-23: Represented Brown at the Open Team Race Nationals, helped the Bears place third … Represented Brown at the Open Fleet Race Nationals, helped the Bears place sixth … Helped Brown place first at the Danmark Trophy, Conn College Invite, and Team Race Invite … Competed during a total of 15 weekends for the Bears throughout the season.
2021-22: Sailed for the coed team at 11 events throughout the year … Competed during the weekends of Sept. 11, Sept. 18, Oct. 2, Oct. 16, Oct. 23, Oct. 30, march 5, March 12, March 19, April 9, and April 16.
Before Brown: Served team as a captain as a junior and senior … Helped team place fourth at the National Invitational Team Race Regatta … Earned multiple varsity letters and scholar-athlete awards from 2015-18 … Raced for head coach Mary Farrell … Sailed on the club level for the Hingham Yacht Club 420 Race Team … Also competed in cross country, track & field, and tennis … High Honor Roll student.
Personal: Jed is the son of Christina and Jed Bell … Has one younger sibling, Porter … Applied Mathematics concentrator … Plans to pursue a career as a data scientist.
