ITHACA, N.Y. – Brown women's basketball is making the trip to central New York for a matchup against Cornell on Saturday, Jan. 29. The game against the Big Red will begin at 2 p.m. and be streamed on ESPN+.

ABOUT BROWN
- Brown comes into the game against Cornell with a 5-12 record and is looking for its first Ivy League win of the season. The Bears are coming off a tight 60-52 defeat to Columbia in their last game on Saturday, Jan. 22.
- Kyla Jones led the Bears with 19 points and pulled down four rebounds against Columbia. Jones has now scored in double-figures in back-to-back games and in three of her last four contests, shooting at least 50% from the floor in each of those three games.
- Isabella Mauricio is on a roll, reaching double-figures in each of her last four games and in five of her last six contests. Mauricio scored 10 points against Columbia, playing all 40 minutes against the Lions.
- Amanda Latkany tallied nine points and pulled down seven rebounds. The freshman finished tied for the team lead with three steals.
- Brown has seven games with double-digit steals this season, including 20 against Fisher. The fewest totals for steals in a game this season are five, which has taken place in two games this year.
- Brown is second in the league with 10.0 steals per game with Kyla Jones leading the league at 2.6 steals per game. Jones is 75th in the NCAA with 39 steals on the season and is 40th in NCAA in steals per game.
- Brown currently sits 74th in the NCAA in steals (170) and 49th in steals per game.
- Brown's defense is currently 89th in the NCAA with 3.9 blocks per game and the Bears' 67 total blocks are 97th in the nation.
- Mya Murray is currently 58th in the NCAA with 1.67 blocks per game and her 25 total blocks are the 90th most across the country. Murray has finished with at least one block in 11 of her 15 games this season, including three games with at least four blocked shots.
- As a team, Brown has blocked a shot in all but one game this season with two games (vs. Wagner, vs. Providence) with eight blocked shots.
- Isabella Mauricio is lighting it up from three point range with the freshman sitting 68th in the NCAA with three-point field goals made (42). Mauricio is 45th in the NCAA in attempts (123), 57th in 3FG per game (2.47) and 114th in the nation in 3FG% (34.1).
- Mauricio has made twice as many threes as any other Bear this season and has hit a three in all but one game this season. Mauricio has four games with at least four made threes and has hit five threes in two games this season.
- Brown beat Fisher College 90-31 in its last outing. The Bears held Fisher to under 10 points in three of the first quarters. It was the first time since Nov. 19, 2015 against Mount Ida that Brown had held its opponents to single digits in three quarters. Brown held Mount Ida to single digits in all four quarters of a 114-28 win.
- Brown's 31 points allowed to Fisher are the lowest since holding Mount Ida to 28 points. The 59-point win is also the largest margin of victory for the Bears since the Mount Ida win (86).
- The Bears defense picked up 20 steals against Fisher. It was the most steals for Brown in a game since grabbing 21 against Central Connecticut State on Nov. 6, 2018.
- Cornell is on a four-game losing streak last losing at Harvard, 89-47. The Big Red began Ivy League play with a win over Dartmouth but have not won since with losses to Princeton, Yale and Columbia.
- Theresa Grace, Mbanefo leads the team in scoring at 11.3 points per game and is the only player in double figures this season. Mbanefo also leads the team with 7.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game.
- Olivia Snyder is second on the team in both points per game (9.3) and rebounds per game (7.3).
- Ania McNicholas leads the team with 2.5 steals, is second on the squad with 2.5 assists and is third in scoring (8.4) and rebounding (5.9).
- Brown won the last meeting in the series 77-73 back in 2020 in Providence and holds a 53-29 advantage all-time against Cornell.
- The Bears had dropped three-straight meetings against Cornell before the win and have not won in Ithaca since 2017.
