
Women’s Basketball Welcomes Dartmouth and Harvard This Weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown women's basketball team will welcome Dartmouth (Feb. 13) and Harvard (Feb, 14) to the Pizzitola Sports Center this weekend, as the second half of Ivy League play continues. Tip-off for Friday's game is at 7 p.m., with Saturday's tip set for 5 p.m.
Saturday's game against Harvard will be the team's Pink Out and Play 4 Kay Game.
Both contests will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
Scouting the Bears (13-7, 5-3 Ivy)
- Brown restarted the Ivy League cycle last Saturday when it completed a series sweep (2-0) against the Yale Bulldogs, defeating them 66-52.
- Brown is ranked top-50 nationally in 10 different statistical categories, and is the highest ranked Ivy in eight of those 10. The Bears' highest ranking is seventh in three point percentage defense (25.3), and ninth in field goal percentage defense (34.8).
- Alyssa Moreland is the highest ranked Ivy League player nationally in offensive rebounds per game (4.0), rebounds per game (10.4), double-doubles (10), steals per game (2.5), and rebounds (208).
- The Bears continue to stand their ground, boasting the best defense in the Ivy League. Brown's strong defense has allowed a conference-best of 55.6 points per game.
- Brown's team field goal percentage (.400) places them third in the Ivy League, just below Princeton and Columbia.
- The Bears lead the conference in combined team rebounds (41.5) and team defensive rebounds (27.9).
- Grace Arnolie enters Saturday's contest eight triples away from 5th place in career three-pointers.
Scouting the Big Green (10-11, 1-7 Ivy)
- In their last time out, the Big Green suffered a 75-35 loss to Harvard. Prior to that, they defeated Yale 77-59.
- Zeynep Ozel now leads the Big Green in scoring with an average of 10.3 points per game, a change from the pair's last meeting. Ozel ranks second in the conference in assists behind Penn's Mataya Gayle, with 4.2 per game.
- Cate MacDonald ranks third in the Ivy League in blocks with 1.3 per game. She also ranks fifth in rebounding, averaging 6.8 per game.
- Olivia Austin makes the top-10 in field goal percentage in the conference at sixth (.489).
- Dartmouth is averaging more three pointers per game at 6.4 than its opponents at 6.0. The Big Green is also making more free throws per game (10.0), and averaging a higher percentage than its opponents (.724).
Scouting the Crimson (13-8, 6-2 Ivy)
- In their last time on the floor Harvard defeated Dartmouth 75-35, extending their winning streak to four straight. Their streak began on Jan. 24 with an 84-38 win over Cornell, followed by wins against Yale (72-44), Brown (61-58), and Dartmouth.
- Three Crimson players are averaging double figures per game with Karlee White (13.7), Abigail Wright (13.5), and Saniyah Glenn-Bello (11.5).
- White ranks sixth in the Ivy League in scoring, and third in field goal percentage (.532).
- Harvard's defense is third in the conference, holding its opponents to 57.0 points per game. Penn separates first-ranked Brown and Harvard.
- The Crimson have the second-highest three point percentage (.319) in the conference, but Brown has kept its opponents' three point shooting to a conference-best 25%.
History
- Dartmouth holds a 61-37 record over Brown, dating back to 1978.
- However, Brown is 7-3 in its last 10 matchups with the Big Green.
- The Bears have won the last two games, which were both at Dartmouth. The Big Green took the last game at the Pizzitola Sports Center, in January of 2025.
