
Men's Hockey Hosts Princeton Friday; Sixth-Ranked Quinnipiac Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Bears men's hockey team hosts Princeton (0-1-0, 0-0-0 ECAC) on Friday (Nov. 5) and sixth-ranked Quinnipiac (5-1-2, 0-0-0 ECAC) on Saturday (Nov. 6) in ECAC conference play at Meehan Auditorium.
Friday's game is set to begin at 7 p.m. while Saturday's game is set to begin at 4 p.m. Both games will stream on ESPN+.

SCOUTING BROWN (1-0-0, 1-0-0 ECAC)
- Brown enters the weekend after opening the season with a 2-0 win over Yale at Meehan Auditorium last Saturday (Oct. 30). Brown has won four straight games over Princeton and look to make it five in a row on Friday.
- Luke Kania recorded 32 saves in his third career shutout in the opener and earned ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Week honors for his performance.
- Junior Nathan Plessis scored Brown's first goal of the season late in the first period and junior Jonny Russell scored his first career goal late in the second period against Yale. Junior Cole Quisenberry assisted on both goals and junior Samuli Niinisaari assisted on the Plessis tally.
- With the victory, Brown improved to 40-46-5 all-time in home openers. The Bears now hold a 37-54-5 record in season-openers.
- Brown dominated Yale at the faceoff dot, winning 62.7% of draws. The Bears lead the nation in the category early in the season.
SCOUTING PRINCETON (0-1-0, 0-0-0 ECAC)
- The Tigers fell on the road at Army in its 2021-22 season opener last Saturday (Oct. 30), allowing two goals in each of the first two periods to fall 4-1.
- Noah de la Durantaye scored the lone Princeton goal with assists from Mark Paolini and Adam Robbins.
- Jeremie Forget recorded 29 saves in the loss.
- The 2019-20 Princeton Tigers finished the season with a 6-20-5 overall record and 2-16-4 ECAC mark. The Tigers won consecutive overtime games to Dartmouth in the ECAC First Series Round before the remainder of the playoffs were canceled.
- Six of Princeton's top-10 scorers from 2019-20 remain on the roster, led by Corey Andonovski, who finished second in scoring that season with six goals and 19 points.
- Two of Princeton's three goalies from 2019-20 return this season: Forget and Aidan Porter.
- Forget entered 2021-22 with a career 2.57 goals against average and .918 save percentage in 25 career games.
- Porter entered this season with a career 3.99 goals against average and .862 save percentage.

- Friday night marks the 177th all-time meeting between Brown and Princeton in a series dating back to 1900.
- Brown holds a 92-72-12 all-time record in the series, a 41-38-8 record at home, and a 40-34-4 record at Meehan Auditorium.
- Under head coach Brendan Whittet, Brown owns a 14-12-4 record against Princeton.

- Quinnipiac enters the weekend with a 5-1-2 overall record and stand as the sixth-ranked team per the USCHO.com and USA Today/ USA Hockey Polls. The Bobcats take on the Yale Bulldogs on Friday night.
- The Bobcats hold wins over Northeastern, North Dakota, Holy Cross, Vermont, and AIC. They fell to North Dakota and earned ties against Boston College and AIC.
- Michael Lombardi and Zach Metsa lead the team in scoring through eight games. Both players have two goals and eight points.
- Ty Smilanic and Wyatt Bongiovanni lead the team with three goals apiece.
- Quinnipiac's offense is powered by its depth, with 13 skaters recorded two or more points through eight games and 18 skaters with at least one point.
- Between the pipes, Dylan St. Cyr and Yaniv Perets have split time, with St. Cyr clocking in with 282:47 minutes played and Perets clocking in with 204:29 minutes played.
- Perets holds a 1.17 goals against average and .934 save percentage. St. Cyr owns a 1.70 goals against average and a .917 save percentage.

- Quinnipiac holds a 25-10-7 record in the series and a 6-4-0 record in the last 10 meetings.
- Brown and Quinnipiac have met in the ECAC Playoffs a total of six times since the 2007-08 season. Five of those meetings have come in the ECAC First Round Series with the Bobcats winning four of those series. The Bears beat the Bobcats in the 2013 ECAC Hockey Semifinals, taking a 4-0 win to advance to the ECAC Championship game.
