Men's Hockey Opens Non-Conference Play at Holy Cross Friday; Hosts #14 Providence in Mayor's Cup Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Bears (1-5-0, 1-5-0 ECAC) open non-conference play on Friday (Nov. 26) at Holy Cross (2-11-1, 2-5-1 Atlantic) before hosting 14th-ranked Providence (10-5-0, 6-3-0 HEA) on Saturday (Nov. 27) in the annual Mayor's Cup game.
Friday's game is set to begin at 2 p.m. at Hart Center Rink while Saturday's game is set to begin at 7 p.m. Both games will air on NESN Plus and Saturday's game will also stream on ESPN+.

- Brown enters the weekend with a 1-5-0 overall record and the same mark in ECAC conference play. After opening the season with a 2-0 win over Yale (Oct. 30), the Bears have lost five straight.
- Nathan Plessis leads the team with two goals and is tied for the team lead with four others with three points.
- Mathieu Caron has made three starts between the pipes and holds a .924 save percentage and 3.15 goals against average to lead Brown goaltenders.
- On special teams, Brown's power play is clicking at 12.5%, scoring on three of 24 opportunities. On the penalty kill, Brown has defended 27-of-31 penalties for an 87.1% rate.
- Holy Cross enters Friday with a 2-11-1 overall record and 2-5-1 Atlantic Hockey conference record. The Crusaders took a win over Bentley and a win and tie over Mercyhurst.
- The Crusaders have lost three straight games entering Friday, most recently falling 3-2 to Merrimack on Tuesday (Nov. 23).
- Grayson Constable and Ryan Leibold lead the team with five goals each. Nick Hale leads the team with 10 points and Leibold and Hale are tied at 12 points apiece to lead the Crusaders.
- All three Holy Cross goaltenders have made at least one start this season. Matt Radomsky has made seven starts and holds a 3.44 goals against and .870 save percentage. Thomas Gale has made five starts between the pipes and holds a 3.88 goals against and .889 save percentage.
- Friday marks the 16th meeting between Brown and Holy Cross in a series dating back to 1928. Brown holds an 8-7-0 record in the series.
- Friday marks the first game between the Bears and Crusaders in just over four years. Brown captured a 4-2 home win on November 21, 2017 in the most recent game.
- Providence enters Saturday as the 14th-ranked team in the nation per the USCHO.com and the USA Today / USA Hockey polls. The Friars hold a 10-5-0 overall record and 6-3-0 Hockey East mark.
- Providence enters Saturday on a four-game winning streak, taking a 2-1 overtime victory over AIC (Nov. 12), a 6-4 win over UConn (Nov. 13), and a pair of wins over Vermont (Nov. 19 & 20).
- Brett Berard leads the Friars with eight goals through 15 games. Nick Poisson leads the team in assists (14) and points (17). Five Friars in total have double digit points this season and another 13 Friars have recorded multiple points.
- Junior Max Crozier, brother to Brown captain Tristan Crozier, has four goals and nine points as Providence's second-leading scorer among defensemen.
- Jaxson Stauber has started all 15 games between the pipes for Providence. The junior holds a 2.17 goals against average and a .924 save percentage.
- Saturday marks the 105th meeting between Brown and Providence in a rivalry dating back to March 1, 1927.
- The Bears hold a 47-54-3 all-time record in the series. Brown's last win in the series came in January 2016, where the Bears knocked off the top-ranked Friars, 4-3 in overtime.
- Brown holds an 18-23-1 record against Providence at Meehan Auditorium.
