Brown Welcomes No. 20 Princeton on Family Day this Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Fresh off its first victory of the season last weekend over Colgate, the Brown football team will welcome No. 20/25 Princeton to Richard Gouse Field at Brown Stadium for a 12:30 p.m. kickoff on Saturday. The game will be the 88th matchup all-time between the two programs.
The showdown will feature one of the league's premier offenses with Brown's Ivy-best 422.2 total offensive yards and 336.8 passing yards per game, going against Princeton's defense, which leads the nation in several categories including total defense (194.5 yards per game) and rushing defense (28.2 yards per game), and ranks second in scoring defense (8.8 points per game) this season.
The two squads are also among the least penalized teams in the nation, with Princeton drawing an FCS-low 3.25 penalties per game, while Brown sits 23rd in the nation with 5.0 flags per game.

SCOUTING BROWN:
- Brown totaled 444 yards of total offense and allowed a season-low 299 yards in a 31-10 win over Colgate last Saturday.
- EJ Perry threw for 351 yards and two TDs, and rushed for another. His 351 yards were the most this season and fourth-most in a single game in his career.
- Brown scored a defensive touchdown when Shane Prevot scooped up a fumble (forced by Camden Gagnon) and returned it 74 yards to paydirt to give Brown a 10-0 lead in the first quarter against Colgate.
- The Bears also got a touchdown from defensive lineman Brooks Jones, who lined up as an eligible receiver and caught a touchdown pass from Perry in the fourth quarter.
- Brown is 9-for-12 on fourth down conversions this season, good for tops in the Ivy League and 12th in FCS.
- Brown is outscoring opponents 60-17 in the fourth quarter.
- Entering this weekend, Brown boasts the seventh-best passing offense in the nation with 336.8 yards per game.
- Wes Rockett has registered at least 75 yards receiving in three of the four games to start the season. His 6.5 receptions per game rank 17th in FCS and are tied with Cornell's Thomas Glover for the most in the Ivy League. His 83.8 receiving yards per game rank second in the Ivy behind Princeton's Jacob Bermelin (88.2).
- Hayes Sutton has registered at least three games this season with at least 69 yards receiving.
- Graham Walker has two games with at least 89 yards receiving.
SCOUTING PRINCETON:
- Princeton is 4-0 on the season, coming off of a 31-28 win at then-No. 25 Monmouth that featured a last-second field goal for the Tigers.
- The Tigers cruised through their first three games of the season before the Monmouth game. In wins against Lehigh and Stetson, the Tigers outscored their opponents 95-0. On Oct. 2, Princeton beat Columbia 24-7 in the first and only Ivy League game the Tigers have played this year.
- On average, Princeton is outscoring opponents 37.5 - 8.8 points per game. The Tigers are allowing just 28.5 rushing yards per game and just 1.1 yard per carry.
- Cole Smith leads the offense for the Tigers, averaging 259.5 yards through the air per game. Smith is completing 64.8 percent of his passes to go with six touchdowns and two interceptions.
- Collin Eaddy is the leading rusher for the Tigers with 222 yards (55.5/game).
- Jacob Birmelin is averaging 88.3 yards per game and has two scores. Andrei Iosivas is averaging 23 yards per catch and a team-best three scores.
- Uche Ndukwe and Samuel Wright II have lived in opposing backfield with each player having 4.5 sacks this season. Delan Stallworth leads the team with 18 tackles.
