
Women’s Hockey Concludes Home Slate Against No. 1 Cornell and Colgate

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's hockey team will close out its home slate for the 2019-20 season on Friday, Feb. 14 and Saturday, Feb. 15, hosting No. 1 Cornell and Colgate, respectively, at Meehan Auditorium. Friday's game is set for 6:00 p.m. while Saturday's puck drop is at 3:00 p.m. with both games streamed on ESPN+.

HATS OFF TO THE 2020 SENIOR CLASS
Prior to Saturday's contest against Colgate, Brown will honor seniors Veronica Alois, Maybelline Beiring, Calla Isaac and Lucinda Quigley in a brief pregame ceremony for their contributions over their four years.
WELCOME BACK ALUMNAE
Brown will also welcome back its program's alumnae on Saturday versus Colgate with an alumnae game taking place earlier in the day at 10:00 a.m.
SCOUTING THE BIG RED
Cornell is ranked number one in both the USCHO.com and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls and is unbeaten in its last 15 games, going 13-0-2. The Big Red's lone loss this year came at No. 6 Ohio State, 3-1, on Nov. 29. Cornell went 2-0-0 last weekend with a 4-1 win at No. 10 Harvard on Friday and a 3-0 shutout over Dartmouth on Saturday. The Big Red lead the conference in goals per game (3.72), penalty kill (.938), goals-against average (0.79) and save percentage (.958). Nationally, Cornell leads the country in penalty kill percentage and ranks seventh in total goals (93) while being the highest ranked team with under 29 games played. Jaime Bourbonnais carries the squad's point lead (33) on seven goals and 26 assists. Her 26 helpers are tied for second highest in the ECAC and sixth best in the nation (1.04 per game). Kristin O'Neill (16-12-28) and Maddie Mills (12-16-28) are tied for second on the team in scoring. O'Neill's 16 tallies are tied for fourth in the ECAC and sixth in the country (0.73 per game). Lindsay Browning has started all 25 of Cornell's games in net and leads the ECAC in goals-against average (0.76) and save percentage (.959). She has posted nine shutouts with her most recent clean sheet coming at Dartmouth last Saturday, 3-0.
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
Colgate went 1-1-0 in action last weekend with a 4-2 win at Dartmouth (Feb. 7) and a 4-3 loss at No. 10 Harvard (Feb. 8). Danielle Serdachny leads the program in points (27) with nine goals and 18 assists. Sammy Smigliani is second in scoring with 25 points, leading the team in goals (12) while adding 13 helpers. Liz Auby has seen most of the action between the pipes with 29 starts. She has posted a 2.07 goals-against average, a .920 save percentage and four shutouts for a 12-11-6 record.
BROWN TALKING POINTS
Sophomore Shay Maloney leads the Bears in points (12) with six goals and six assists. Senior Maybelline Beiring is second in scoring with nine points on one goal and a team-best eight assists. Sophomore Tina Paolillo (5-2-7), sophomore Lizzy Gross (3-4-7) and junior Megan Forrest (2-5-7) are all tied for third in scoring. Calla Isaac leads the netminding group in games played (19) and a .914 save percentage. The Sherwood Park, Alberta native stopped a career-best 55 shots at Harvard on Nov. 1 and has recorded two shutouts this season (2-0 at RPI, 35 saves; 1-0 vs. Saint Anselm, 25 saves). Isaac has recorded 40 or more saves six times this season and had gone over 30 stops in 14 contests. Sophomore Hayley Kliczko has also seen significant time between the pipes with eight appearances. She registered a season-high 39 saves at Dartmouth on Nov. 2.
LAST TIME OUT
Brown went 0-1-1 last weekend, falling 5-0 at No. 7 Clarkson on Friday before tying St. Lawrence, 1-1, on Saturday. The Bears held the nationally ranked Golden Knights scoreless in the first period, but the home team scored three goals in the second and added two in the third for the victory. On Saturday, senior Calla Isaac finished the day with an impressive 46 saves while sophomore Shay Maloney provided the Bears' lone goal. Brown held a 1-0 lead entering the third with the help of Maloney's first period power-play tally, but Shailynn Snow tied the game for the Saints at 7:55 of the third to eventually force overtime.
PENALTY KILL STREAK
Brown went five-straight games without surrendering a power-play goal, going a combined 19-for-19 on the penalty kill. The streak started with a two-game series against Saint Anselm (Jan. 24-25) where Brown went 10-for-10 over the two-game stretch. The Bears then went 4-for-4 versus Yale (Jan. 28), 2-for-2 against Quinnipiac (Jan. 31) and 3-for-3 versus No. 6 Princeton (Feb. 1), the ECAC leader in power-play percentage (.232 - 5th in the nation). No. 7 Clarkson ended the streak on Feb. 7. Brown is 25-of-26 over its last seven games on the penalty kill.
