
Men’s Soccer Set to Host Boston University Wednesday Night

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's soccer team will host Boston University in non-conference action Wednesday night as part of a doubleheader with the women's team at Stevenson-Pincince Field. The women's team will play Fairfield at 4 PM before the men take on the Terriers at 7 PM.

The Bears split a pair of road games in Washington D.C. over the weekend with a shutout win at Howard (1-0) before a loss to George Washington (2-0). Malcolm Johnson scored the game winner in the victory over the Bison and James Swomley made four saves for his first shutout of the season. George Washington then benefited from two early goals on Saturday, while Maxwell Waldau posted a career high eight stops in net for the Bears.

Boston University (0-5) will head to Providence in search of its first win of the season after falling to UMass Lowell, 2-1, in double overtime on Saturday. Matt McDonnell scored the team's first goal of the season in the match when he converted a penalty kick to break up a four-game scoreless skid. He leads the Terriers with 23 shots and 11 shots on goal. Michael Stone has played all five games in goal and enters Wednesday with a 1.53 goals-against average and a .771 save percentage. BU went 5-10-4 last season with a 4-4-1 mark in league play.
