Men’s Soccer Prepares for Final Regular Season Match at Yale with Chance to Clinch Ivy League Tournament

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown men's soccer team will travel to New Haven, Conn. on Saturday to take on the Yale Bulldogs in their last match of the regular season, with an opportunity to clinch the final spot in the Ivy League Tournament. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
The match will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

Scouting the Bears (6-6-2, 2-3-1 Ivy)
- In their last time out, the Bears shutout Columbia 1-0. Brown's win officially eliminated the Lions from Ivy League Tournament contention.
- Sophomore defender Stefano D'Agostini netted his first goal of the season, to ultimately give the Bears the win.
- D'Agostini gave the Bears an early advantage, scoring a goal in the 16th minute of the match. Senior midfielder Mads Stistrup Petersen took a corner kick that Columbia goalkeeper Alexander O'Brien punched away. Senior defender Greyson Mitchell got the rebound, sending it to the middle of the box to D'Agostini for the score.
- Senior goalkeeper Henrik Weiper shut down Columbia's three scoring opportunities, keeping a clean sheet for the Bears. Weiper's shutout marks his second of the season, and 10th of his career.
- The Bears have earned conference wins against Dartmouth and Columbia, and played to a draw against Penn.
- Junior forward Lorenzo Amaral has remained among the top 10 in multiple statistical categories in the Ivy League throughout the season.
- First-year forward Mateo Pereyra has made his way into the conference leaders, ranking 10th in goals with an average of .308 goals per game.
- In the Bulldogs' last time out, they were shutout by Penn 3-0. Yale has been shut out in their previous three matches (Penn, Princeton, and Dartmouth).
- Yale's lone conference win of the season came against Columbia on Oct. 4, when they defeated them 1-0. Joseph Farouz scored the Bulldogs' goal in the 58th minute.
- The Bulldogs played to a 1-1 draw with Harvard on Oct. 11.
- Sven Meacham ranks second in the Ivy League in assists, averaging .429 per game. Meacham also leads Yale in scoring with one goal and six assists for eight points.
- Three players lead the team in goals with two each, while four players have netted one goal.
- Yale has a higher shot on goal percentage with .407, compared to their opponents' .358.
- The Bears hold a 8-5-4 record over the Bulldogs, dating back to 2008.
- In their last 10 meetings, Brown holds a 3-4-3 record.
- Both teams met last season at Stevenson-Pincince Field where Brown defeated Yale 1-0 to punch their ticket to the Ivy League Tournament.
- The Bears can clinch the final spot in the Ivy League Tournament with a win over Yale.
- They can also clinch the spot with a Dartmouth-Harvard tie.
