CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARENESS GAME
The Bears will host their Childhood Cancer Awareness Game against Boston University on Wednesday as Brown supports the Rally Foundation and its mission to end childhood cancer. Every school day in America, 46 children are diagnosed with cancer, and cancer is the number one disease killer of children in America.
This season a member of the Brown softball family was directly affected by the effects of childhood cancer. In March of this year, Brown freshman Madeline Charles (Filmore, Calif.) lost her 16-year-old cousin, Patrick Graham, to Burkett's Lymphoma. On Wednesday, the Bears play in honor of Patrick and all children battling cancer. Patrick's mother, Stacy Graham, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the contest. Fans can learn more about the cause and donate at fundraise.rallyfoundation.org/BrownSB2019.
