PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After playing in its first home games last week, the Brown women's hockey team will go back on the road, playing its next four games away, starting on Friday, Nov. 15 at Colgate (6:00 p.m.) and Saturday, Nov. 16 at No. 3 Cornell (3:00 p.m.).

SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
Colgate put together a five-game unbeaten streak in the beginning of October, going 4-0-1 with wins over Mercyhurst (2-1, Oct. 4), Syracuse (5-2, Oct. 18 | 5-1, Oct. 19) and UConn (6-2, Oct. 25). The Raiders have had good luck playing at home in 2019, and are 4-1-1 so far this season. Colgate went 0-1-1 in its most recent action, falling at No. 6/5 Clarkson, 2-1, on Friday, and tying St. Lawrence, 0-0, on Saturday. Noemi Neubauerová and Danielle Serdachny share the team lead in points with nine, on an identical four goals and five assists. Liz Auby has started 12 of Colgate's 13 games in goal and has a 1.62 goals-against average, a .938 save percentage and one shutout. Auby was named the ECAC MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Month for October after she started all six games and boasted a 4-1-1 record. She faced 162 shots in October, sending aside 151 while only allowing more than two goals in a game once.

Cornell enters the weekend ranked third in both the USCHO.com and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls. The Big Red opened the season with three-consecutive shutouts, with a 6-0 and 3-0 win over Robert Morris on Oct. 25 and Oct. 26, respectively, and a 1-0 victory over Quinnipiac on Nov. 1. Cornell is a perfect 4-0-0 when playing at home this year. The Big Red went 1-0-1 in last weekend's games with a 4-1 win over St. Lawrence on Friday, and a 1-1 tie at No. 6/5 Clarkson on Saturday. Jaime Bourbonnais leads the team in points (8) and assists (7) and has one goal while Maddie Mills (3-3-6) and Gillis Frechette (3-3-6) are second in scoring with six points, also tying Amy Curlew with the goal lead (3-2-5). Lindsay Browning has allowed just three goals so far this season and picked up ECAC MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week honors on Oct. 28 and Nov. 4. She enters the weekend with a 0.49 goals-against average, a .976 save percentage and three shutouts. Cornell leads the ECAC in penalty kill (.955), GAA (0.49) and save percentage (.976).
BROWN TALKING POINTS
Under the guidance of second-year head coach Carisa Zaban Wahlig, the Bears look to continue making strides in the highly competitive ECAC in 2019-20. The Bears boasts nine underclassmen and an experienced junior and senior class that is comprised of 10 student-athletes. Sophomore Shay Maloney is the team's top returning point scorer from 2018-19, with seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points. Named the team MVP following the season, Maloney led the Bears with three power-play goals and also ranked third in blocked shots (58). All three of Brown's netminders from last season return, with sophomore Hayley Kliczko and senior Calla Isaac starting 14 and 13 games, respectively.
Maloney leads the team in scoring so far this season with three goals and one assist for four points. Senior Maybelline Beiring (1-2-3) and junior Darby Melia (2-1-3) are tied for second in scoring with three points apiece. Calla Isaac leads the netminding group with five games played and a .912 save percentage. The Sherwood Park, Alberta native stopped a career-best 55 shots at Harvard on Nov. 1 and turned away 31 shots in a 2-1 win over RPI last week (Nov. 8).
LAST TIME OUT
Brown went 1-2-0 last week, with a 7-0 loss at UConn on Tuesday, a 2-1 win over RPI in the team's home opener on Friday, and a 4-1 loss against Union on Saturday. After trailing 1-0 after one period of play versus the Engineers on Friday, freshman Lizzy Gross and junior Megan Forrest scored second period goals and senior Calla made 21 of her 31 saves in the final two periods to help the Bears pick up their first win of the season. Sophomore Shay Maloney recorded the lone goal in the Union matchup to close out the week.

The Bears opened the 2019-20 season with five-straight away games, starting with a non-conference series versus RIT on Friday, Oct. 25 and Saturday, Oct. 26. Brown then began ECAC play on away ice, at Harvard (Friday, Nov. 1) and Dartmouth (Saturday, Nov. 2). The Bears concluded the road swing with a non-conference contest at UConn on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Brown plays just four games at Meehan Auditorium in the first half of the season while the Bears will have nine home games in the second half of their campaign.

The Bears were 1-1-0 against the Raider last year, with a 4-3 win in game one (Nov. 2) and a 4-0 loss in the finale (Feb. 16). In the first matchup, Brown came back after trailing then No. 9/10 Colgate, 3-1, with three unanswered goals - two in the second period and one third period goal - with sophomore freshman Tina Paolillo starting the run. Senior Calla Isaac made 16 saves in the final frame and finished with 38 total stops. It was all Colgate in game two as the Raiders scored two goals in the first and one in both the second and third period in the shutout.
LAST YEAR VS. CORNELL
Brown was 1-1-0 versus Cornell in 2018-19, with a 4-3 win on Nov. 3 and a 4-1 defeat on Feb. 15. The Bears trailed 2-1 after the first period in game one and scored three-unanswered tallies in the second, including a power-play goal from junior Abby Nearis, to take the lead. Cornell would add a goal at the end of the second and neither team would score in the third. Senior Calla Isaac duplicated her performance against Colgate the night before and had 38 saves, registering 11 in a scoreless third period to preserve the victory. Veronica Alois scored Brown's first goal of the contest. Cornell took game two, 4-1, aided by two power-play goals - one in the second and one in the third. Sophomore Shay Maloney scored the lone goal for the Bears in the contest and Isaac recorded 45 saves.
