Men’s Crew Opens Fall Season at Head of the Housatonic

DERBY, Conn. – Brown University men's crew finished third overall in the men's collegiate 8+ event as the Bears kicked off the fall season at the Head of the Housatonic Saturday on the Housatonic River at Indian Well State Park.
Brown's top boat navigated the course in a time of 13:09.6, finishing behind only defending national champion Yale (13:03.8) and Northeastern (13:05.9). Brown's B boat secured sixth place overall in a time of 13:42.3.
The Bears entered five totaled boats in the men's collegiate event, also taking 12th (14:08.6), 14th (14:22.3) and 17th (15:03.4).
Brown is coming off a sixth-place finish at the 2018 IRA National Championship, when the Bears reached the grand finals for the tenth-straight season.
Brown returns to the water on Oct. 20-21 for the Head of the Charles regatta in Boston.
