Softball Drops Series Opener at Princeton, 6-2

PRINCETON, N.J. – Brown softball (10-15, 3-4 Ivy) dropped its series opener with Princeton (17-10, 7-0 Ivy) at C.L. Paul '94 Field on Friday afternoon (April 3).
Amanda Deng drove in Brown's two runs and six Bears finished with hits on the day. Macy Borowski threw five innings, giving up six runs on six hits. The junior struck out six batters.
The Tigers scored two runs in the bottom of the first, taking advantage of two Brown walks and a hit batter.
Brown responded in the top of the third as Elli Thompson was hit by a pitch to start the inning. Jasmine Hsiao singled in the next at bat and a sac bunt by Maya Choksi bunted both runners over. On an 0-2 count, Deng singled through the right side to score Thompson and Hsiao to tie the game.
Princeton broke the tie on a two-out single in the bottom of the third and added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth for the final tally.
UP NEXT
Brown will close out its series at Princeton with a doubleheader against the Tigers on Saturday (April 4) beginning at 12:30 p.m.
