Baseball Heads to Harvard for Weekend Series

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown baseball team will look to keep the momentum going and extend its four-game winning streak this weekend with a three-game Ivy League series at Harvard.

SCOUTING BROWN (11-11, 5-1 Ivy)
- The Bears are coming off a 10-0, eight-inning victory on Tuesday over Bryant, and a three-game sweep of Princeton last weekend in which Brown outscored the Tigers 22-1.
- Brown's pitching staff has not allowed an earned run over the last 36.0 innings pitched, dating back to the ninth inning of its March 24 game vs. Stonehill.
- Freshman RHP Drew Nelson has won two consecutive Ivy League Rookie of the Week awards.
- Senior RHP Peter Dubie led the entire nation with 15 strikeouts last week, all coming in his start against Princeton. His 15 strikeouts were the most in a single game by a Brown pitcher since 2008 and the most ever at Attanasio Family Field at Murray Stadium (opened in 2017). He was named to Baseball America's National Team of the Week.
- Senior Dylan Reid has allowed no runs and just four hits with 15 strikeouts in 14.0 innings over his last two starts.
- Sophomore first baseman Christian Butera is riding a nine-game on-base streak and has a hit in seven of those games.
- Senior Mika Petersen has reached base in 14 of the last 15 games, and has a hit in 10 of the last 12 games.
- Senior Mark Henshon has reached base in 15 of his last 17 games.
- Sophomore outfielder Alex Benevento enters the weekend riding a seven-game hitting streak.
- Senior DJ Dillehay has a reached base in 13 of the last 15 games and leads the team with 23 RBIs after picking up four in the Bryant win.
- Freshman shortstop Matt Luigs is hitting .275 and leads the team with 15 walks and 11 steals.
- Harvard opened Ivy League play by dropping two of three against Columbia two weeks ago, before taking two of three last weekend at Cornell.
- Saturday's game will serve as the Crimson's home opener.
- Senior infielder/RHP Gio Colasante has earned back-to-back Ivy League Player of the Week Honors. Last weekend he pitched 8.0 innings in a 2-1 win at Cornell with four strikeouts and batted .556 at the plate.
- Junior shortstop Jack Rickheim is hitting .440 in Ivy League games with 11 hits, 10 runs, seven RBIs, and three homers. In conference play, he ranks first in home runs (three), first in runs (10), second in hits (11) and second in doubles (three).
