PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown softball (11-19, 4-8 Ivy) closed its weekend with a 10-2 loss to Harvard (16-15-1, 8-4 Ivy) on Sunday (April 12) at the Brown Softball Field.

Alyssa Villarde hit her second home run of the season with a two-run shot but the Bears could not generate any other offense in the loss to the Crimson.

Harvard scored first with a two-run home run in the top of the second before the Bears responded in the bottom of the inning. With two outs, Lilly Burns doubled to left field before Villarde took the second pitch she saw over the center field wall to tie the game.

The Crimson took control of the game in the top of the third, scoring five runs with one out, including a bases-clearing double to chase Macy Borowski from the game.

Edie Cobb entered in relief, giving up two more runs before getting out of the inning on a ground out.

The Bears got a runner to third in the fourth and loaded the bases in the fifth, but both times, came up empty.

UP NEXT
Brown will travel to UMass for a single game on Tuesday (April 14) before the Bears are scheduled to host a doubleheader against Providence on Wednesday (April 15).
