PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown baseball team dropped the final game of its three-game weekend series against Rhode Island on Sunday by a score of 19-9 in seven innings. Overall, Brown (3-6) took two out of three from Rhody (1-12) in the series.

Both teams combined for 11 runs over the first two innings, and URI put up at least two runs in every inning except the third. All nine members of Brown's lineup reached base with eight recording hits, and all nine of URI's players recorded at least one hit.

Alex Benevento, Mika Petersen and Mark Henshon all had two-hit games for Brown, with Henshon, Petersen and Jack Edmunds all picking up two RBIs.

Both teams traded four runs on five hits in the first inning. Trailing 6-4 in the bottom of the second, Logan Meusy led off with a double and scored on a wild pitch to pull Brown within 6-5.

The Bears pulled within 10-7 in the fourth on a two-run single by Petersen, and the Bears' final two runs came in the seventh on a two-run homer by Henshon.

The Bears will conclude their four-game homestand this Tuesday afternoon, March 10 when Quinnipiac comes to Murray Stadium. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. on ESPN+.
