Sophomores Alex Benevento and Christian Butera each homered to supply all the offense in game one, and senior Peter Dubie allowed just two hits and struck out a career-high nine over 5.0 solid innings in the win.
In the nightcap, the Bears scored seven unanswered runs after falling behind 4-0 early, then holding on late. Sophomore Jack Edmunds crushed a long three-run homer, and Butera delivered the game-winning hit with an RBI triple in the fifth inning. Freshman Drew Nelson picked up his first career win on the mound, and senior Dylan Reid earned his first career save.
GAME 1
Seven different Bears picked up one hit apiece in the opener. Matt Wilmarth and Brenden Kline each tossed 1.0 scoreless innings of relief.
Brown got on the board early in game one with Butera driving one over the left field wall in the bottom of the second inning for a two-run homer.

URI used two doubles in the ninth inning to pull within 3-2 and bring the go-ahead run to the plate with two outs, but Christian Keel got a big strikeout looking to lock down the save.
GAME 2
The Bears needed just five hits to put up their seven runs in the nightcap, taking advantage of seven URI walks and some key defensive plays.
Rhody used a solo home run and a bases clearing double to jump out to a 4-0 lead in the second.
Bruno climbed right back in it in the bottom of the second on a mammoth 427-foot three-run home run by Edmunds down the left field line to pull within 4-3. Henshon tied it with an RBI ground out in the third.

Double plays to end threats in both the fourth and fifth innings kept the game tied. Nelson pulled the Bears out of a bases-loaded one out jam in the fourth by inducing a ground ball to Matt Luigs at short to turn a 6-3 inning-ending double play, and Butera made a catch near the bag to double off the runner at first in the fifth.
That's the THIRD double play of the afternoon to escape a jam!

Butera delivered what proved to be the game-winning hit in the fifth with an RBI triple into the left field corner to score Henshon. Butera later scored on a wild pitch, and one inning later, DJ Dillehay was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force in another insurance run and make it 7-4.
URI once again brought the go-ahead run to the plate in the final inning, pulling within 7-5 after a sac fly in the seventh before Reid closed the door on the win.
Brown and Rhody will close out their three-game weekend series tomorrow afternoon at Murray Stadium with a single game starting at 1 p.m.
