
Gymnastics to Host Senior and Alumnae Meet on Sunday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown gymnastics team will host its final home meet of the season this Sunday afternoon when they welcome Bridgeport, LIU and Southern Connecticut State to the Pizzitola Sports Center. The Bears will also honor their four-member senior class of 2026 with a post-meet ceremony, as well as welcome back alumnae for its annual Alumnae Day celebration.

BIG SEASON-HIGH
Brown rebounded on March 1 with a huge score of 194.900 against SUNY Cortland, which ranks as the sixth-highest score in program history.
The Bears also posted the sixth-highest beam score (48.925) and eighth-best bars score (48.875) in program history.
HITTING HER MARK
Senior Liza Marcus set a pair of career-highs on March 1 when she won on bars (9.850) and tied for first place on beam (9.850).
SENIOR LEADERSHIP
Senior Sophia Dewar has been a consistent performer all season for Brown. On March 1, she tied her career-high on floor (9.875) while winning on both vault and floor en route to being selected as the GEC Gymnast of the Week. She set a new career-high of 9.850 to win on vault on February 13 at Temple, which ties for the fifth best vault score in program history.
Dewar also led the Bears in all three of her events on January 24 at Bridgeport, taking first place on floor (9.850), and taking second place on vault (tie-9.775) and bars (career-high of 9.750).
WHITESIDE'S RANKINGS
Sophomore Addy Whiteside is the only Bear to rank in the top 25 in the GEC in three events. She has set at least one career-high in four straight meets, and most recently tied for second on both bars and floor vs. SUNY Cortland.
REHNING IN THE APPLAUSE
Freshman Rehna Saalinger made her collegiate debut on floor on February 13 and delivered a 9.800, tying four fourth overall at the Temple Quad Meet. She put together her floor routine for the first time in the week leading up to the meet and delivered for Brown out of the anchor position to lead the team with her 9.800.
IVY CHAMPION
Senior Sophia Dewar captured the first Ivy title of her career on February 22 when she tied for first place on floor, tying her career-high of 9.875.
2026 GEC WEEKLY AWARDS
Brown has had four GEC weekly award winners this season.
