Gymnastics Stays Hot, Takes First Place on Senior Day

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown gymnastics team posted a top-10 all-time score for the second straight meet on Sunday afternoon to take first place over Bridgeport, LIU and Southern Connecticut State. The Bears scored 194.825 points, which ranks seventh all-time in school history.
The Bears honored their senior class of 2026 – Sophia Dewar, Umi El Mammann, Jessica Lin and Liza Marcus – with a post meet senior day ceremony in honor of their final home meet at the Pizzitola Sports Center. Brown also welcomed back numerous alums as part of Alumnae Day.
The seniors helped the Bears shine as Dewar took second on both vault and floor, and Marcus tied for third on both bars and beam. Junior Emily Ford won on beam and tied for third place on vault.
Brown posted a 48.425 to sit in third place after the first rotation. Dewar led the Bears in second place with a 9.775, followed by Ford (tied-career-high) and Lulu Ton-That who tied for third at 9.750.
The Bears posted 48.775 on bars to take over first place after two rotations. Daisy Fallon led the way for Brown in second place overall with a big career-high of 9.825, followed by Marcus in a tie for third at 9.800. Dewar and Sophie Tressler each scored 9.750 to tie for fifth.
Brown used a 48.650 to extend its lead thru three rotations. Ford took first place overall with a season-high 9.875. Marcus and Lindsay Van Eyk both tied for third place with 9.775.
On floor, Brown posted a 48.975. Dewar led the team in second place at 9.875 (ties career-high) and Addy Whiteside tied for third at 9.825. All six gymnasts posted at least a 9.725 on the event.

Brown will compete next Sunday, March 15 at No. 11 Michigan State in a dual meet in the final tune-up ahead of the GEC Championships. Start time is set for 2 p.m. on B1G+.
